These spectacular group of animals are some of the most remarkable of all reptiles. one way is that they canclimb on [u]any[/u] surface, with the aid of the pads on their tes. the pads have many microscopic hooks that can find grooves on all places. most eat insects, and are spread across africa, america, asia, europe, and possibly australia. these herps are also sold largly in the pet trade, ony about sixty percent of them survive. Many of this family sound like they are calling "gecko gecko" when they vocalize (an uncommon feat among lizards). But though Tokay geckos have the scientific name Gekko Gekko, they usually cal out "Tokay". Most Geckos have thin, skin like scales. Also, many are transluscent, such as the Namib Sand gecko. Typing of this particular species, they also are famous for their cooling methods. This wide eyed lizard will stand on the front left leg and back right leg, and shift to the opposite when they heat up to much. |
