Those chameleons are nothing like me
Description:Anoles, such as the green one above, are smallish lizards that live in the Americas. They are native to cuba but many species have been introduced into Central Texas, California, and Florida. Green anoles are often mistaken for chameleons because of their color changing ability. But it is much more restricted in its pallete of colors. They range from green to brown, and, extremely rarely, blue. Knight and Cuban anoles are much like their green anole cousins except they are much more intricately marked and are larger. During mating season, the males show off to females with their dulap (the flap of skin shown in the picture above). They also use it to scare away or compete with other males for territory. In "Music for chameleons" Copote writes after hearing a story about racing "chameleons" that were also having strength contests by practicing push-ups, "...and did you know they are quite fond of music?" He was observing Green anoles, most likely.
