New stuff happening at reptilestudy.com!
| Description: | Well, here are the official news updates on things being revamped at ReptileStudy.com. The first date here is not the site's Birthday. That was just about March 15, 2003 We started kind of late, but anything important will be posted here in this new album from now on. The date of the new thing first, then the news.
10/13/05... Well, we obviously started the archives and news page today. This is sceduled to be one of the biggest pages here at RS! Also, there is a new album for all your herp questions!
2/12/06... Wow, a really long time since I last updated. some small conversation going on is the therapod section of DINO and friends. Obviously the background color of RS::Stories has been altered
2/14/06...happy valentines day to all! I have updated the "Blind Snakes" section
2/27/06...deleted some spam from the T-rex (therapods) album
3/15/06...three year anniversary! WA-HOO!
3/17/06...Happy St. Patricks Day! More and more experimenting with the color of the background and text color. Speaking of backgrounds, Be prepared to see some custom layouts for the albums. Feedback? Go to the guestbook
3/18/06...(from Colorado!) 1. Recently there has been several "secret" albums! These albums cannot be accessed through the regular front page. Hint: Gallery. Oh, and if you find the secret albums, feel free to post directions to it. (add comment+put name+write directions+press save). 2. New stories album--featured links! Here you can see where I get inspiration and facts. 3. Some of my older, shorter albums fixed up and lengthened.
3/19/06...Added album: anoles. It informs about these small lizards.
3/20/06...Album deleted: small bearded dragon. This album was fused into the original Bearded Dragon album, All of the comments were also moved. Also look forward to some flash cartoons about herps in this section. I'm going to be busy with the custom layouts too, so it might be a while until I can get to both of these things. I also added part two to my fiction story. This may make me sound impatient, but if noone submits the directions to the hidden album(s) within the month (before the end of March) I'm going to post directions to them. I also made part 2 of a story in fictionzilla I started a long time ago. Oh, and I updated the news section
3/21/06...I made part 3 of a story in fictionzilla I started a long time ago. I also made a description. Only special sections have that, and this is officially the main, grand central station of ReptileStudy. And lastly, I edited the in-album image frame to solid black border.
3/25/06...There's a new link that is one of the most multifunctional links in the "links" section. Go figure. Also...Production has begun on the new flash adaptation of "Verdi: the flash adaptation"!
3/27/06...(pomp and circumstance plays) The new front page is up and running! a great new design! A wonderful, stunning picture! Yaaay! (pomp and circumstance ends) "Verdi: the flash adaptation" is going quite well. Custom layouts are being pushed to a later date, though, due to the fact that I'm putting a lot of deatail into "Verdi". And lastly, the hidden album, reptile records, is also on the (pomp and circumstance plays) NEW FRONTPAGE (echo) (pomp and circumstance ends)
3/28/05...I edited a few VERY minor things on the new frontpage.
3/30/05...typo sweep initiated. I am going to be looking around for typos, due to some observations in the guestbook. Edit: "Snakes" cleared of spelling typos along with lizards. Edit of the Edit on the news: This project has gotten off to a booming start. But it wil span out a while. But bad news... My Flash MX 2004 application (what I'm using to make "verdi") is having a strange error
4/7/06...I'm typo sweeping tortoises today. Maybe another album too. (Randomly) Plus, my hair has been dyed "electric lizard" green! Oh yeah, I just realized my prediction in text the top of the page is correct--this is the largest album in RS!
4/8/06...The typ0 sweep is now up to "Caimans". I plan on doing more. Also, welcome visitors from Google! By looking up "reptile study" on google (yes, two words) you will find this site is 2nd. of course this is subject to change. Also, verdi is back and I am working furiously on it!
4/10/06...verdi is done! well, the animation part of it is. I'm yet to do voices and/or music.
4/14/06...So you want to know about verdi, eh? The last update did not take into consideration the credits and opening scene. Also, Verdi is now officially done! The music isn't great, but it's something to listen to. Also, RS is NUMBER ONE on the google search "reptile study"! it dipped down to fourth, but got back up!
4/16/06...I moved verdi to the new sub album "2006: a Flash Oddessey" (catchy little name, eh?) I think I will change the background of some
album(s) soon...
4/19/06...The entire snakes album has been revamped, with MUCH longer entries!
4/20/06...I just changed the photos out for cobras and the venom awareness album. I added some info to both too. Oh, and the final typo sweep for "Stories" concludes the typo search project.
4/21/06...I replaced the photo for "Pythons" and masterfully used the oppritunnity for a chance to advertise Verdi: TFA
4/22/06...! Happy Earth day!
4/27/06...I edited the chameleons section.
4/28/06...Edited...Monitors, Gila Ms, Geckoes, Glass lizards...Iguanids: spiny lizards, green anoles. UPDATE: total site text revampification finished!!! YEY!
4/29/06...Changed out the photo for glass lizards, and also added a little info to monitors and glass lizards. Even though the official information bulk up is over, I might add things here and there...
5/17/06...been a little while! I updated the tuataras and found something my manual typo sweep didn't initially see. I changed the Stories section description and background color. (If you are wondering, the hex code is #CCCCFF, as opposed to the old aqua--#CCFFFF) New "Lizards" color too, hex #: 99FF99
5/26/06...! I have made a whole new side of this site! On the front page, the last option in the table of contents at the bottom is now "Reptilestudy en Español". This means all out spanish speaking freinds can now enjoy the site (even comments are translated!)
5/27/06...I added a German and french and german version of the site, and I'm still messing with the formatting on the front page. The font sizes are the main problem. I am currently using google to translate, but some time next week I will use Babelfish. (42!) And lastly, I MAY (may) might, possibly, (not garunteed) unprobably be making a new Flash Cartoon.
5/29/06...Firstly, I am really sorry again about the mess that is the front page. I'm going to fix that. Secondly, in July there is a horned toad count in a place in Texas, so I will report back to the nonfiction section as soon as I get back. And thirdly I changed the color of lizards once again. this time its #00C000
7/8/06...It's been so long since I updated! Well, The horned toad survey thing was filled up, but we are now top o' the list for next time! (end of July)
7/31/06...to quote the above entry, "we [were] top o' the list for the next time" (horned toad survey). And the awesome trip was a success! Expect mucho updates and sections called "matagorda–" (the island the lizards etc., etc., were on) "–island specials" plus a new section or two inspired by the texas coastal trip! (check crocodiles, lizards, alligators, and snakes)
8/1/06...Racerunners and colubrids and horned toads, oh my! And for good measure, let's throw in a venomous snake. All four of these Matagorda Specials are up! More on the way...and did someone say "amphibians?"
8/4/06...Made a new color for the snakes/lizards area, along with colubrids. This actually happened a while ago, but Technical difficulties hampered updates (In case you are wondering, RS.com is primarily built on a mac computer...)
8/5/06...AmphibianStudy.com exists! Nothing is on it yet, it redirects to Rstudy. But soon...
Colubrids and Iguanids will have some parts added soon. Also, some messing around with domain names means that reptilestudy.com can be found through going to our reptilestudy.org site. The links section had the first entry taken off, I had heard there was a lot of misinformation on it. I'm also making new computerized reptile/other animal images. You can locate them at reptilestudy.com/images/computerizedstuff.htm. Do you have an animal image you'd like computerized? add acomment giving me a url (web address) I can find it at and if it appears at the above link in less than a month it was accepted! The animals must be clear in the images. Phew! that's all, folks...
9/24/06...The new "Trivia" section finally got some stuff in it. now three facts are available, more coming soon. Also, I think that it is appropriate to send out a thank you to the late Steve Irwin for all his herpetological conservation efforts.
9/30/06...I fixed some small fact error in the snake records section. It said the longest snake was a Retic, but it said only thirty-two feet. Because it was actually closer to 33', I corrected it to say "...thirty three feet, eight inches..."
7/15/07...sorry everyone, been forever since I updated!! Anyway, I've got some massive new additions ot the T-Rex Section. I'd like to change the pic soon. Also, the whole dinosaurs section is host to a big conversation! So go check that out. I hope to get back to the site after 9 months of slacking ^^;;. So check often! |
