T-rex: AAAAAH!!! Human! Human: AAAAAH!!! T-rex!
| Description: | Tyrannosaurs and Allosaurs are members of a group of dinos called Theropods. They are meat eaters, usually large. They have 3 closest relatives: the tuatara (closest relative), crocodilians, and birds. They lived throughout the world. Their prey was smaller dinos, insects, and--later on--some mammals.T-rex was forty feet long and thirty feet high, About as large as a small house!! a popular rumor is that the Tyrannosaurus was the biggest scavenger/predator alive. But there were not only larger sea predators in that era, but carcharodontosaurus (Kark-a-ROW-don-to-SAUR-us) was larger along with gigantosaurus. And even bigger was Sixty or maybe even seventy foot saurophaganax. Now there is also a debate on whether or not Tyrannosaurus was a scavenger, predator, or both. read the below comments to find out about that.
The Allosaurs were almost completely active in the in the jurrassic period, with Saurophaganax Maximus becoming the largest known land predator. They were almost definitely predators, with significantly larger arms than the later tyrannosaurids. Allosaurus was the best known Allosaurid. S. Maximus was discovered in Ohio, but probably lived all across the Gowanalandian area thar is now the Southern US. Allosaurids probably were cannibals, often found with other members of their species in they're stomachs. Saurophaganax Maximus means Maximum Lizard-Eater.
Tyrannosaurids are much more notorious than Allosaurids. They lived all across the Earth during the cretaceous period. Kasai Rex is a little known cryptid that multiple non-connected African safari men have claimed to see, describing it as "a large beast, at least 12-13 meters long. It was reddish in coloration, with brackish-colored stripes going down. The legs were thick; it reminded me of a lion, built for speed. It had a long snout and numerous teeth." (John Johnson, 1932). ALthough this Cryptid is almost 100% nonexistent, it is one of the only real dinosaur cryptids (plesiosaurs weren't dinos). |

for christ sake t-rex is a scavenger and not a predator. Look a its fitures and its hands. Look at its brain shape, which just like the scavengers.

I know that some people think this, and it is my personal opinion that th tyrannosaurus was a predator. Of course this website is based soley on facts, and I do not impose my own opinions except for the stories section. Firstly, Brain shape has obviously evolved over these millions of years, and this could a one point hav been a predators brain. secondly, I called the T rex a MEAT EATER, and not a predator. scavengers EAT MEAT

my personal opinion would be that it was a scavenger because small arms would not be able to get any grip on another dinosaur. But one thing that supports the fact that it was a predator is that it has large teeth meant for gripping and tearing at something. many things on this beast support both sides maybe we should just categorize it as both because both sides can show enought evidence. thanks

Tyrannosaurus Rex was not the biggest predator alive! Scientists have found a bigger one. They named it Gigantosaurus.
This beast weighed in at 8 tons and measured some 45 feet long. The only
thing wrong was that it had a smaller brain than T rex.

The description says: "a popular rumor is..." so it looks like there is agreement on where this "little" fellow fits in. ;-)

Saurophaganax was bigger that gigantosaurus, and carcharodontosaurus was bigger than gigantosaurus too.
